Questions
What is an ATS?
An applicant tracking system is the software a company uses to collect and sort job applications. Greenhouse, Lever and Workday are common ones. When you upload a résumé, it pulls the plain text out of your file so recruiters can search and read it.
Why does my résumé text come out garbled?
A PDF stores text as pieces placed on a page, not as sentences in order. Columns, tables, text boxes and icons can make the pieces come out in the wrong order or run together. A résumé saved as an image or scan has no text at all, so it comes out blank.
What does "Not found in your résumé" mean?
It lists skills and requirements the posting names, in the posting’s own words, that we could not find in your résumé text. Each one under "Found" comes with the line from your résumé that shows it. An AI model makes the list by reading both texts. It can miss something or be too strict, so treat it as a list to check, not a score. If you have the skill, say so plainly in your résumé.
Do you keep my résumé or the posting?
No. We send both to our AI model provider for this one check and save neither. We keep only a record that a check ran and what it cost us.
